About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Financial Controller to join our client, a visionary provider of specialist dementia care, known for its commitment to high-quality, personalized support for residents and a nurturing work environment for staff. Operating multiple care homes, our client has built a trusted reputation across the region by tailoring their services to each resident’s unique needs and promoting the well-being of their team.
In this role, you will have full oversight of financial operations, ensuring strategic financial management that aligns with their mission to deliver exceptional dementia care. The successful candidate will bring strong financial acumen, knowledge of the healthcare or care sector, and experience in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls
- Oversee cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll
- Conduct risk assessments, implementing cost-effective strategies
- Ensure regulatory compliance, particularly with standards relevant to the care industry
- Collaborate with leadership to align financial practices with business goals
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar finance leadership role, ideally within healthcare or the care sector
- Strong knowledge of care sector regulations and compliance, including familiarity with CQC standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking
- Ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
